Are these actually polarised or just tinted?
Are these actually polarised or just tinted?
Genuinely polarised. Apex uses CR39 optical-grade resin with a true polarisation filter - the same lens material used in prescription eyewear. It's not a tinted coating that fades. The filter is built into the lens and eliminates horizontal glare at the source. The difference on British roads is immediate and obvious.
How are these different from a £20 pair?
How are these different from a £20 pair?
The £20 pair uses polycarbonate lenses with a surface tint. Polycarbonate hazes over time, the tint scratches off, and the UV protection is approximate.
Our lenses use CR39 - scratch-resistant, optically precise, UV400 certified to the same standard as prescription lenses.
The frame is hand-polished acetate, not injected plastic. The difference in clarity and durability is not subtle.
